Dr. Maria Diaz-Valle, MD, serves as the Medical Director of Smithfield Manor.  She received her medical education from the University of Puerto Rico and completed her residency in Family Medicine.  She completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine and is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine with added qualifications in Geriatric Medicine.  Her special interested related to geriatric care is to provide compassionate and comprehensive care across a spectrum to the geriatric population while empowering the patient to fully participate in their own heath care to achieve a better quality life.  Dr. Diaz and her team provide onsite medical services twice per week, providing optimal outcomes.

 

Callie Stegall, PA-C

Education: BS in Biology, East Carolina University; Physician Assistant Program, East Carolina University. 
Certifications: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
Memberships: North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants
Special Interests Related to Geriatric Care: My most important interest in this field is to always provide the highest-level of compassionate and empathetic care possible to my patients and their families.

 

Laura Gladden, PA-C

Education: BS in Biology, North Carolina State University; MMS in Physician Assistant Studies, Wake Forest University.
Certifications: National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.
Memberships: North Carolina Academy of Physicians Assistants; American Academy of Physicians Assistants; Piedmont Association of Physicians Assistants; Katherine Anderson Society; National Scholars Collegiate Society.
Special Interests Related to Geriatric Care: When it comes to providing the most well-rounded care, my most important interests are my ability to show compassion and kindness to everyone I meet.

 

Sara Kitts, FNP-C 

Education: BSN, Winston-Salem State University; MSN, University of North Carolina Wilmington

Certifications: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners

Memberships: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners

I have always had a passion for geriatric medicine and consider it a privilege to be able to work with the elderly population in this capacity. My goal has always been to provide compassionate, holistic care in order to maintain patient independence, preserve dignity, and improve quality of life.
