Family and Friends of the Residents of Smithfield Manor,
I wanted to take this opportunity to give an update on the state of our facility. I know this has been an unusually trying time for us all. Be assured that our Administration is taking this all very seriously. We are hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. I wanted to thank each of you for your understanding and patience with restrictions that we have put in place. All the changes that we are implementing are done so with sole purpose to keep your loved ones safe.
There are a couple things I wanted to mention:
At this point, we really don't have a time frame of when these restrictions might be lifted. We will let everyone know as soon as we have any update from the CDC and the American Health Care Association.
- I want to remind everyone that we are no longer taking outside items in from families. If you would like to get something to your loved one, please let one of our Social Workers know. They will do their best to make you aware of possible arrangements. At this time, we are still accepting mailed items. Although the facility provides personal care items, if you feel that your loved ones need any specific, personal requested items (pull-ups, shampoo, body wash, etc.), you are still able to mail those. Our physical address is 902 Berkshire Road, Smithfield, NC 27577. Don't forget to make it to their attention.
- Please be assured that we are monitoring all staff who enter the facility each day for potential signs and symptoms of COVID-19. We are also monitoring each Resident every shift. Plans are in place in the event of positive and/or questionable test for COVID-19.
I am confident in our team, and that together we will get through this! I have been so impressed with how the staff has pulled together, and I feel as though they are doing a remarkable job. If I can be of any assistance to you in anyway, please don't hesitate to reach out to me directly 919-934-3171 ext. 223 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Serving our Senior Citizens,
Nathan C. Arnn, Administrator
Effective April 17th, we began to strongly encourage all Residents to remain in their rooms in order to maintain proper social distancing. This precaution will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. We will continue to monitor the cases in the community and guidance from the CDC for best practices. All interventions are reviewed and under the direction of our Medical Director, Dr. Marie Diaz. The safety of our Residents and Staff is our # 1 priority.
